Report bugs – help improve Magisk
This version is developed specifically for tech-savvy users — not recommended for beginners or non-technical users. It is experimental and may contain bugs.
If you face issues or crashes, please report them to the developer along with proper logs to support future improvements.

Magisk Beta Overview
It’s a testing version released when developers introduce new features. Since it’s still in development, there may be bugs or crashes. Developers release this version to gather feedback and bug reports from users around the world.
Once the issues are reported and fixed, and no major problems remain, the final stable version is released.
In short, Beta is meant only for users who understand technical details. When the features are confirmed to work properly and no bugs are reported, they’re moved into the stable release.
Who Should Report Bugs?
You should have basic debugging skills such as:
- Extracting logs
- Reproducing the issue
- Providing clear steps to reproduce the problem
How, What, and Where to Report Bugs
Always report valid bugs — do not spam. Logs are required to investigate your issue.
| Issue / Symptom | What to Do | Which Log to Upload | Log Location / Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Magisk flashing fails (in TWRP) | Go to Advanced > Copy Log in TWRP or pull log manually | Recovery Log | /tmp/recovery.log |
| Magisk flashing fails (in Magisk Manager) | After flashing, choose Save Logs | Install Log | Automatically saved during install |
| Magisk core bug (root/modules issue) | Report the issue with the log file | Magisk Log | /cache/magisk.log |
| Magisk Manager app is crashing | Use ADB logcat while it crashes | Logcat (System Log) | Use: adb logcat > log.txt |
| SafetyNet / CTS / Banking App fails after enabling MagiskHide | If it was working before, report with log | Magisk Log | /cache/magisk.log |
| Using old debug log path | Do not use this anymore | Not Used | /data/adb/magisk_debug.log (deprecated from v16.6) |
What New Features Introduced?
- A new feature called Zygisk (listed as “zisk” in the app) has been added, which is currently in beta stage.
- The bottom floating bar has been replaced with a proper menu interface.
- Rooting for Android 12 works out of the box.

- MagiskHide (fully removed and replaced by Zygisk DenyList)
- Old module installation methods
- Support for legacy Android versions (below Android 6)
- Deprecated systemless hosts method
- Obsolete root detection bypass techniques
If you are using Android version 12, no recovery can decrypt Android 12 or Android 12-based custom ROMs.
Download and Install Beta Version
We’ve discussed both methods for downloading and installing Beta Magisk. Whether you are already using Magisk, be it Kitsune, Alpha, or Magisk Manager—or downloading it for the first time, this guide will help you through the process.
- (Upgrade to Beta)
- ( Installing Beta from scratch)
1 Steps to upgrade to Beta
- First of all, you need to download the beta APK file.
- After downloading the APK file, select and rename it.
- Simply remove the .apk extension and change it to .zip. Then tap on Rename and confirm the change. You should now see a Magisk-Beta.Zip file.

- Next, go back and open the official Magisk app or Kitsune Magisk to install the Magisk-Beta ZIP file.
- Go to the Modules section of Magisk either it stable or Delta version, then tap on Install from Storage.
- Select the Magisk-beta Zip file and tap OK.
- Once the installation is complete, simply reboot your device.
- After the reboot, you will see Beta on your screen.
- Tap on it, and it will begin downloading the latest version of Beta.
2 Installing Beta Magisk from scratch(Step-by-Step)
- Download the Magisk v24 APK file.
- Rename the APK file to .zip format.
- Copy both the APK and ZIP files to your SD card — this will make installation easier.
- Ensure that custom recovery (like TWRP) is already installed on your device.
Without it, you cannot install Magisk using this method. - Before proceeding, it’s highly recommended to back up your boot image:
- Go to Backup → Select Boot → Swipe to Backup.
- This helps restore your device if it gets stuck in a boot loop or fastboot mode.
- This step is optional, but useful.
- Boot into custom recovery and flash the Magisk 24.0 ZIP file.
- The installation process should only take a few moments.
- After installation, reboot your device.
- If the Magisk app does not appear on your device after reboot:
- Manually install it using the APK file you downloaded earlier.
- Do not use the in-app download button, as it may fail or waste your time.
- Navigate to your storage, find the APK file, and tap on “Update” to complete the setup.
- This method is compatible with both Android 11 and Android 12.
Conclusion
Magisk Beta is developed by Topjohnwu as a testing version of the official Magisk. It introduces new features aimed at improving compatibility with the latest Android versions, while removing some older functions like Systemless Hosts, traditional module installation methods, and MagiskHide. It’s designed for experienced users who want to try future changes before they reach the stable release.
